Federico Tomasi: e)motion
04.03.2010

FACE OFF
Action painter Federico Tomasi continues his love for human expression in his Malaysian debut. An endless fascination for human expression which he considers a reflection of society and history, Swedish-Italian painter Federico Tomasi's latest works - e)motion - make a smashing statement in his Malaysian debut at Zinc Art Space.

Imbued with the passion and exuberance of his trademark action painting style, the 12 big and 12 small canvases depict human emotion at its rawest and most primal.
"The expression on a face reflects a person's state of mind and I use faces as vehicles of expression. In this series of works I wanted to create faces which transform themselves so that they almost resemble masks, where the eyes become life and soul, the soul which hides behind a living mask," explains the Bali-based artist.

The e)motion exhibition will run from 4 - 20 March 2010.
